Valkyries Horn 2022 will take place September 9th and 10th. in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Our weekend for the competition has traditionally been the 3rd weekend of September. This year, we are holding the competition one week earlier to accommodate Mazer Cup’s new dates and location.
This creates a unique opportunity for judges and volunteers to efficiently participate in both competitions and there is little chance the planets will align in this way again. You can take advantage of the close proximity with an easy 6 hour drive from Minneapolis/St. Paul.
Our special category for 2022 is Foraged Ingredients!
Make a mead with ingredients you’ve gathered from the wild. Ingredients must be gathered by you or a co-meadmaker. Commercial purchases and home grown ingredients are not permitted (honey/yeast are the exceptions). NO Mushrooms. No Federally illegal or restricted substances. No harmful ingredients.
But that’s not all… We are adding a commercial competition to the proceedings. Details will be rolling out in the next month or two. Stay tuned!
